Vic Roads are undertaking much needed road improvements on the Great Ocean Road from Monday 28 May to Thursday 31 May which will require a detour to be established.
Lorne is accessible via the Great Ocean Road (B100), Kennett River, Wye River, Seperation Creek , Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles will be available via a detour. The detour takes visitors through the Great Otway National Park via the C151 and then through Forrest on the C119. At the T intersection of the C119 with the B100 visitors can turn left to Kennett River, Wye River, Seperation Creek , Skenes Creek and Wongarra or right to continue their journey along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay, 12 Apostles and beyond.
Road signage marking the detour is in place to guide visitors. The travel time from Lorne to Apollo Bay in normal conditions is approximately 1 hour. The estimated travel time with the detour is approximately 1.5 hours.
We encourage you to inform your guests that the detour is in place and to advise them to plan their journey and allow extra travel time. To assist in the communication of the detour, we have developed a map, in both English and Chinese, outlining the detour. Please feel free to use these maps in your communication.
